Did you know that bottled water in North America costs anywhere from 240 to 10,000 times more than tap water. In fact, we now are paying much more for bottled water than we are for the same amount of gasoline. Did you know that approximately 2.25 billion liters of bottled water is sold in Canada every year . This means that about 215.68 million kilograms (475.49 million pounds) of plastic is used to bottle water every year. That is more than the weight of 1328 empty Boeing 747 airplanes!
October 2010 AR students receive scholarships to study in NORWAY. Leah Beveridge and Andrea Flynn, both completing Bachelor of Science degrees with majors in Aquatic Resources and Biology, will study in the Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture at the University of Nordland (formerly Bodø University College). The credits they complete will transfer to their StFX degrees. Read more here.. Fall 2010 Aquatic Resources students raised close to $1,300.00 to support international water projects undertaken by the RYAN’S WELL FOUNDATION.
